Who we are

KeepFive (https://keepfive.app) is a habit and attention-practice web app. We do not sell personal data.

This page describes what the current product actually does.

Practice data stays in your browser

Your practice — the one commitment you chose, daily completions, streak counts, and the timer — is stored on your device in browser local storage (key keepfive:v1). A small local flag may also be saved if you turn on the short test timer.

That device record is the copy the timer uses. If you are signed in, the dates you complete are also saved on our server so a Kindred can see whether you showed up and your current streak. Clearing your browser storage removes the device copy. It does not delete dates already saved on the account.

Accounts

If you sign in, we store your email so we can send a one-time sign-in link and keep your subscription attached to you. We also store subscription status from Paddle (for example trialing, active, past due, or canceled) and the Paddle customer id needed to open billing.

Sign-in emails are sent by Resend. We do not use your email for unrelated marketing lists.

What we do not collect

The app does not include advertising pixels. We do not run a contact form. We do not see your card number.

KeepFive keeps cookieless, aggregate visit statistics, with no IP addresses stored and no third-party trackers.

Hosting

The website is hosted on Vercel. Like most hosts, Vercel may record standard request logs needed to operate the site — for example IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you.

Share links

If you share a streak card, the practice title and counts are placed in the link you copy. Anyone with the link can see those details. We do not keep a server-side archive of shares.

Payments

When you subscribe, payments are processed by Paddle.com, the Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment details. We never see full card numbers.

Kindred

You can invite one Kindred. They do not see your email. They can see whether you kept today, your current streak, a sentence only if you checked “Share with my Kindred,” and a one-tap encouragement. Either of you can end the link from Account.

We email an invite when you ask us to send one. A short email about encouragement is sent only if that email is turned on for the service.

A sentence you choose to share

After a check-in you can write one sentence. It stays on your account. Your Kindred does not see it unless you check “Share with my Kindred.” That choice is off unless you turn it on.

Public sharing is separate, and also off unless you turn it on. If you check “Allow KeepFive to share this anonymously,” you grant KeepFive a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, edit for typos, and display that sentence. The public signature is only an initial and a country, such as “M., China.” We review a sentence before it can appear. This grant cannot be withdrawn. KeepFive may still remove a line at its own discretion. This is a license to use the sentence, not a transfer of your copyright.

We store the country and initial you set for that signature. We do not publish your name or email.

If an account is deleted, the sentence stored for it is removed with the other personal data after 90 days. That removal is described under Deletion and questions.

Service email

Email is used for login links, and Paddle may email receipts or billing notices. We will not use your address for unrelated marketing lists.

Age

KeepFive is for people 13 or older, or the minimum age in your country, whichever is higher.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.

Deletion and questions

KeepFive is operated by Junyan Liu. For privacy questions, or to ask for an account to be deleted, email hello@keepfive.app from the address you signed in with.

When an account is marked for deletion, sign-in stops immediately and an active subscription is cancelled so it will not renew. For 90 days the account can be restored, which turns sign-in back on. Restoring does not start a new subscription.

After those 90 days, KeepFive deletes the personal data on the account: the email, sign-in sessions, check-ins, sentences (including ones that were shared), Kindred links, and gifted memberships tied to that email. Anonymous totals, such as how many check-ins were kept, stay, with no link to the person. Payment records are held by Paddle, the Merchant of Record.

You can clear this site’s data in your browser to remove the practice record stored on that device. That does not delete the account.
